Carole Simpson, the first female and first minority debate moderator, said Martha Raddatz, tonight’s moderator of the vice presidential debate, will keep the candidates in line.

“I don’t think she’s going to lose control of the debate as Jim Lehrer seemed to do last week. I think she feels pressure but that she’ll do just fine,” Simpson said on CNN Thursday afternoon.

Simpson moderated a 1992 debate between Bill Clinton, George Bush and Ross Perot.
