Conservative Iowa radio host Steve Deace, who endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in August, apologized Wednesday for the “full vagina” tweet he sent about Carly Fiorina during Tuesday night’s Republican presidential debate.

Deace apologized after his wife, Amy Deace, said his original comments were “too vulgar.” Here’s his apology tweet:

During her opening statement at CNN’s debate, Fiorina, a former chief executive of Hewlett-Packard, talked about how she worked her way up to the top of a Fortune 500 company after starting as a secretary, beat breast cancer and was a mother. That retelling of her life story prompted Deace’s original tweet:
