As Ted Cruz’s vice presidential pick, Carly Fiorina embraced the role of attack dog and criticized remarks made by John Boehner earlier this week in which former speaker called the Texas senator “Lucifer in the flesh” and a “miserable son of a bitch.”
“Well, it is despicable. It’s beyond the pale,” Fiorinia said, when asked by Hugh Hewitt about the comments on his radio show Friday.
She quickly pivoted to Donald Trump, the GOP frontrunner who is currently besting Cruz by more than 400 delegates in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
“But I think it tells you everything you need to know about Donald Trump. John Boehner said, ‘Yeah, we’re texting and golfing buddies,'” Fiorina said, referring to how Boehner characterized his relationship with Trump at the same event he dissed Cruz.
“Ok, great. That’s why I have been crystal clear in saying that Donald Trump will never challenge the system, because he’s texting and golfing buddies with John Boehner,” Fiorina said.
