Cantor: Raising Taxes Won’t Solve Debt Problem

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) said on Wednesday that so-called fiscal cliff negotiations need to focus on reducing spending, and that solutions involving raising taxes would not solve long-term deficits.

“An obsession to raise taxes is not going to solve the problem,” Cantor said at a Capitol Hill briefing in Washington.
