Vice President Joe Biden cracked this year’s TIME 100, the annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world that was unveiled on Thursday, and the magazine’s write-up of the nation’s second-in-command was penned by House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA).
In the short essay, Cantor praised Biden’s ability to forge consensus and “bring people together.”
“His list of accomplishments is impressive, but most impressive to me is his ability to build bridges, bring people together and get things done,” Cantor wrote of Biden. “Even though we disagree on many issues, he creates opportunities for future collaboration.”
Biden has spoken glowingly of Cantor in the past, saying in a speech last year that he “happen(s) to personally like” the GOP leader.
This year’s TIME 100 was something of a bipartisan showcase. In another essay, President Barack Obama praised fellow nominee Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), one of the most conservative lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
