Former Rep. Pete Hokestra (R), a candidate for Senate in Michigan whose campaign is best known for his controversial Super Bowl ad, did not see a jump in fundraising thanks to the spot. Late Friday, Hoekstra’s campaign reported on Facebook it raised $700,000 in the first quarter of 2012, a 30% drop from the fourth quarter of 2011, when he reported around $1 million raised.

The Super Bowl ad which was criticized as being racist, and the spot and all mention of it was scrubbed from Hoekstra’s websites weeks after it ran.
