Fox News host Brian Kilmeade on Tuesday’s “Fox & Friends” said girls are better than boys at fundraising, a statement he admitted was sexist.

Kilmeade’s comments came during a segment about a boys’ high school baseball team that, according to television station KLAS, was forced to tear down a storage shed by the school district because the girls’ team didn’t have one.

After a two-year endeavor to secure funding, a storage shed was set up at Arbor View High School for the boys’ baseball team. However, the district ordered that it be torn down and the team and high school were charged $21,000 to do so, KLAS reported.

Carl Pastrone, whose son plays on the team, spoke with Kilmeade about how the shed was built as a co-ed storage facility to house both softball and baseball equipment for girls and boys, respectively.

Pastrone said that Title IX, a law that prevents gender discrimination in education and sports and which ensures that girls enjoy the same access to participate in activities that receive federal funds, was used to justify tearing it down.

But Pastrone said lawyers had advised the parents and team that Title IX only applies to government funds not privately raised money and donations.

Kilmeade agreed with Pastrone’s explanation of Title IX and noted that the boys had been the ones to raise the money. After noting that he had “nothing against girls sports, Kilmeade commented on girls’ superior ability to fundraise.

“Girls are even better at fundraising for the most part than boys,” Kilmeade said. “They’re more enthusiastic, more dedicated, and I’ll be sexist in saying that. I’ve noticed it. I’ve tried to do it for both.”
