Family members of Norway massacre victims walked out of the courtroom as the trial of Anders Behring Breivik came to a close. The first walkout occurred early on in the trial when Breivik attempted to justify the killings, claiming he was acting to prevent a Muslim invasion. Referencing Muslim birth rates, he said he launched the attacks so that Norway would not become a “multicultural hell”. He then claimed sanity, seeking acquittal. The court will deliver a verdict on August 24. The prosecution has requested that Breivik be deemed criminally insane.
