Gawker uncovered a treasure trove of Hill-insider goodies Wednesday when it published an 80-page guide for House Speaker John Boehner’s crew of interns. They pulled out many of the highlights, but here’s one nugget they missed: Boehner’s office has a filing system for magazine covers featuring the speaker.

Here are the instructions from the memo:

Publications where JAB is featured on the COVER

Those that have not been logged are kept in the filing cabinet inside the storage room (Top drawer). Once a week, these publications need to be logged into the Excel file “JAB Publications” including the following information:

– Date (in chronological order)

– Publication

– Title

– Short description

A few other oddities: There is an official protocol for what to do with tours when protesters enter the speaker’s offce (take them to a cafeteria) and the staff sets aside copies of Hill newspapers for Boehner’s wife, Debbie.

Gawker said the document had been left at a D.C. house party by a “sauced” Hill staffer.
