President Obama and Speaker John Boehner spoke by phone Friday afternoon, as the two sides continue to wrangle over re-opening the government and increasing the debt limit.

There was no apparent breakthrough, according to Boehner’s office. “The President and the Speaker spoke by telephone a few minutes ago,” Boehner spokesman Michael Steel said in a statement. “They agreed that we should all keep talking.”

Steel said Boehner’s office would not be releasing any additional information about the call.
