Some top Nevada Republicans will be appearing at a GOP PAC gala in Las Vegas alongside “honored guest” Wayne Allyn Root, a 2008 vice presidential candidate for the Libertarian party and a vocal birther theorist, according to Ralston Reports. The keynote speaker for the event will be House Majority Whip Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
Root is one of three honored guests listed on the invitation. Rep. Joe Heck (R-NV) and Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV) are the others.
Root graduated Columbia University the same year as Obama and said he thought it was strange that he hadn’t even heard of the future president, prompting him to publicly declare that Obama was likely a foreign exchange student and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney should call for his college records to be released.
