Vice President Joe Biden on Friday responded to the National Rifle Association’s criticism of the group’s meeting with the White House task force on gun violence. “I thought we had a very straightforward, productive meeting,” Biden said, according to a White House pool report.

After meeting at the White House Thursday, NRA said it was “disappointed” that Biden focused on attacking the Second Amendment.

“It is unfortunate that this Administration continues to insist on pushing failed solutions to our nation’s most pressing problems,” the NRA said in its statement. “We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be blamed for the acts of criminals and madmen. Instead, we will now take our commitment and meaningful contributions to members of congress of both parties who are interested in having an honest conversation about what works – and what does not.”
