Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday had some fun by making reference to a source of right-wing fodder: President Barack Obama’s use of the TelePrompTer.

Speaking at the Jewish American Heritage Month reception, Biden requested that the teleprompter in the room be taken down.

“You can’t tell Barack that the TelePrompTer’s down,” Biden joked, according to a pool report. “The standing joke in the office is Barack’s learning to speak without a TelePrompTer; I’m learning to speak with one.”

Conservatives have long mocked Obama’s reliance on TelePrompTers, as evidenced by former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin’s speech at the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference in March.

“Mr. President, we admit it: you won. Accept it,” Palin said. “Now step away from the TelePrompTer and do your job.”
