Vice President Joe Biden began an event in Charlotte, North Carolina late Tuesday after thunderstorms forced Air Force Two to abort a landing and circle the Charlotte area until the storm subsided, according to White House pool reports.

From the pool report:

Just after 11 am, AF2 appeared to be on its way into Charlotte, having descended just below the clouds. Then the 757 abruptly pulled up and circled for about 35 minutes because of thunderstorms in the area.

Biden excused his lateness at the event by “referencing our bumpy ride in and some ‘queasy stomachs on our plane.'”
