Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) told Stephen Colbert to “follow his heart” for the revolution when he crashed Colbert’s opening monologue on Wednesday’s episode of “The Late Show.”
As soon as he took the stage on Wednesday, Colbert was drawn to his desk. But he said he had do what was responsible. That’s when Sanders joined him.
“Stephen, you can do what you want and be responsible,” Sanders said.
But hosts are supposed to start their shows “standing up and talking to a camera,” Colbert said.
“Stephen, that’s what the elites want you to think,” Sanders replied. “You’ve got to follow your heart.”
