An internal poll commissioned by the Tom Barrett campaign, a copy of which was obtained by Talking Points Memo, shows the Milwaukee mayor leading the Democratic primary for governor in the Wisconsin recall.

Barrett has 41 percent support, former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk 27 percent, Secretary of State Doug La Follette 7 percent and state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout 4 percent. The survey was conducted from April 16-17 by the Democratic polling firm Garin Hart Yang.

The results are similar to another recent poll from Daily Kos/Public Policy Polling, which also gave Barrett a 14-point margin over Falk.

The pollster’s analysis claims that Barrett leads Falk by more than 20 points in both the Milwaukee and Madison media markets, the latter of which is Falk’s home political territory, and which combined make up three-fifths of the expected total primary vote.
