Tom Barrett, the Democratic nominee to take on Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, explained on MSNBC Wednesday admitted Walker has a huge cash advantage, but said, “David beat Goliath, as you may recall.” Barrett, who won the Democratic primary Tuesday, has rasied $831,000 compared with $25 million raised by Walker since January 2011.

Barrett said that a significant amount of Walker’s money is coming from out of state and that his campaign will focus on get-out-the-vote efforts.

He’s raised $13 million already this year. Sixty percent to 70 percent of that came from out-of-state donors. We know in terms of spending that he’s going to vastly outspend us in this race. But just last week, there was an independent poll that had me with a 1-point lead over Scott Walker. This is a lot about turnout. And we have a lot of grassroots organization going on. We have our website and people are being engaged.
