In an interview scheduled to air late Thursday, Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) said he remained less than impressed with the testimony of former Sen. Chuck Hagel, President Obama’s nominee to lead the Defense Department.
“I think that Chuck Hagel appeared weak and wobbly today,” Barrasso told CNN’s Erin Burnett. “Unconvincing and not the kind of sound judgment and strong leadership you need in a secretary of defense.”
Barrasso continuded: “The bottom line is Senators are not ‘intimidated’ as Chuck Hagel refers to by any lobby. When the national interest of the United States is at stake – and specifically our security – people make a vote based on the security, and best interest of the United States.”
