CNN International asked Iraqi men and women on the street what they’d tell the candidates running for U.S. president if they could.
“We’re waiting for promises, promises, promises to come through,” says one student at the University Of Baghdad. “We’re living in hell.”
A man stading in one of the city’s street markets also expresses dismay at modern Iraq.
“If you are a presidential candidate, I would like to give you this message,” he says. “They should try to rebuild the nations that they entered before pulling out their troops.”
