Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod and MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough settled their mustache bet on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Thursday, working out a deal in which Scarborough donates $10,000 to epilepsy research and the future of Axelrod’s mustache remains on the line. “Fired up, ready to grow,” Axelrod said to Scarborough.

Before the election, Axelrod promised to shave his mustache of 40 years if Obama lost Pennsylvania, Minnesota or Michigan while Scarborough promised to grow a mustache if Obama won Florida or North Carolina. With Obama ahead in Florida and looking to ultimately take the state, Scarborough worked out a modified deal.

Scarborough agreed to donate $10,000 to epilepsy research and host a fundraiser where he would wear a fake mustache. If Axelrod’s “Slash the Stache” campaign raises $1 million for epilepsy research, Axelrod promised to shave his mustache anyway.
