Axelrod: Romney Was ‘Vigorous’ But ‘Devoid Of Honesty’

David Axelrod, senior adviser to the Obama campaign, said that Mitt Romney gave a “vigorous” performance in the debate Wednesday night but one that was “devoid of honesty,” on a conference call with reporters Thursday.

Axelrod said the campaign would “hold Gov. Romney accountable for the things he said in the first debate and make him justify those claims,” referring to the positions Romney took Wednesday night on his tax plan, Medicare and hiring teachers.
