Obama campaign chief strategist David Axelrod appeared on Anderson Cooper 360 to hit former Massachusetts Gov. and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on what Axelrod defined as a rather weak response to radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh’s comments that Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke was a “slut,” other degrading terms. Limbaugh has since apologized for the remarks, but Fluke did not accept his apology.
“I was kind of shocked when Governor Romney, all he had to do was say about the thing was ‘Well that’s not the language that I would have used,'” Axelrod said. “What about the spirit of what was said? I thought that was a cowardly answer, and it was a test of leadership and one that he failed.”
