David Axelrod, adviser to the Obama campaign, predicted that the misleading Jeep ad Romney in Ohio at the end of the campaign could come back to haunt Romney Tuesday, during an appearance on CNN’s “Starting Point” Tuesday morning.

Axelrod said the ad, which implied Jeep jobs in Ohio were being moved to China, is “creating a real backlash in that state” and “I think that’s going to come into play.”

Axelrod continued: “What it did was create an even larger gulf of trust and trust is a big issue in this campaign, and particularly for these voters in Ohio for whom questions like the survival of the auto industry are very much questions about their family’s economic well being.”
