A protester was arrested Friday after allegedly slapping a police horse earlier this month during a Donald Trump rally in Kansas City, Missouri, local TV station WDAF reported.

April J. Foster was charged with abuse of a police service animal after officials said she ran up to a police horse and screamed in its face in an attempt to frighten the animal while officers were trying to control the crowd, according to the report.

After that, Foster allegedly slapped the horse, named Dan, in the face with an open palm before running into the crowd. A photographer with the Kansas City Star said he witnessed a protestor screaming at a police horse.

Officers were unable to find the suspected horse-slapper until someone called called a tip hotline, according to WDAF.

The news station reported that there were four others arrested in the protest, where demonstrators were pepper-sprayed by police. The rally in Kansas City took place during a weekend of turbulent protests during Trump events, after his campaign canceled a rally in Chicago citing security reasons.
