A court in Delaware has found Apple to have infringed upon three patents filed by Sony and Nokia, owned by holding firm MobileMedia, Bloomberg Businessweek reported Thursday. The patents reportedly cover critical features including call handling, call rejection, and the less critical but perhaps more user-friendly camera component. MobileMedia is a holding firm for Sony, MPEG-LA and Nokia designed to press claims but not be the victim of counterclaims, as the Los Angeles Times reported. Damages will be determined in a subsequent trial, yet to be scheduled, and MobileMedia’s CEO told Bloomberg they could be “substantial”.
