Americans for Prosperity, the conservative group partially funded by the Koch brothers, is attacking President Obama on debt in a multimillion-dollar ad campaign, CNN reports. The ad will begin airing Wednesday in 11 swing states.
The ad begins with Obama’s promise to cut the deficit in half during his first term and ends with Obama’s famous line, often used against him by Republicans, that if he doesn’t get the economy on track, “this is going to be a one-term proposition.”
AFP told CNN it will put $7 million behind the ad in the first week and will spend up to “$27 million to run spots on TV as well as social and new media over the next three weeks.” The ad will run in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.
