Amazon on Thursday released a lengthy list of statistics about its sales during the 2012 holiday shopping season and earlier in the year. Among the new information is Amazon’s note that November 26, 2012, so-called “Cyber Monday,” the Monday after the traditional Black Friday shopping day, was its busiest day for holiday shopping yet, with 26.5 million items ordered around the globe, or 306 items per second.

Amazon said its new Kindle Fire HD tablet was the most popular item on the website, despite being released 15 weeks ago.
