Amazon Elastic Cloud Suffers Disruption, Taking Down Reddit, Pinterest, Others

Amazon’s increasingly popular elastic compute cloud (EC2), which hosts such popular websites and apps as Reddit, Pinterest, Instagram and Flipboard, among others, suffered service disruptions beginning around 1:38 p.m. EDT Monday, as Amazon disclosed on its web services dashboard. By 3:45 p.m. EDT some service had returned but other websites were still out.
