Rep. Allen West (R-FL), a national tea party star, has a new one-minute TV ad in his bid for re-election. And he does not back down from his national controversies.
West touts his background as a veteran, then declares: “Washington is broken — but we will fix it. We will put an end to the taxes and regulations that are killing job growth. We will put an end to a failing education bureaucracy that’s leaving America’s children behind. We will put an end to the wasteful spending that’s destroying the future for the next generation.
“Some say I push too hard, that I ask too much. My response: I’m just getting started — that’s the American way. I’m Allen West, and I approve this message.”
West’s likely Democratic opponent is businessman Patrick Murphy. The West campaign did not immediately return a request for comment on the extent of the ad buy.
