The Susan B. Anthony List, a group dedicated to electing anti-abortion candidates, has released a new ad attacking President Obama’s abortion record. The ad is airing across Missouri in the wake of Senate nominee Todd Akin’s comments about “legitimate rape.”

SBA List continues to support Akin. “In light of the recent national discussion over abortion, it’s important Americans know the president’s best-kept secret: his extreme record on abortion,” SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a statement.

The ad features a woman who describes “surviving” an abortion and being saved by a nurse. She says that Obama voted “to deny basic constitutional protections for babies born alive from a failed abortion. Not once, but four times.”

It’s a line of attack that has been used before against Obama, and deemed untrue; Illinois already had a law on the books specifying that a if a viable fetus survives an abortion, it should receive care.

SBA List has put $150,000 behind the ad, which is airing across Missouri. The group says the ad is the first in a series “highlighting President Obama’s extremist record on abortion.” SBA List said it is considering putting up ads in North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin.
