Al Jazzera reports that up to seven attackers breached a perimeter fence of one of NATO’s bases in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province, but that all of the fighters were killed before they could enter any further.

The attack follows a series of attacks in southern Afghanistan over the last 24 hours. An hour-long gunfight between Afghan police and militants in Kandahar’s Zhari district led to the deaths of three policemen. Three gunmen, clad in Afghan National Police Uniforms, also killed a NATO service member on Tuesday.
