Afghan Driver Who Crashed Near Panetta’s Plane Dies

An Afghan civilian who crashed a stolen truck at an airfield and emerged from the truck in flames around the same time Defense Secretary Leon Panetta landed has died, the New York Times reports. The Afghan man — who was an interpreter — died early Thursday of severe burns, the AP reports. The Pentagon was not immediately considering the incident an attack on Panetta.
