Mormon voters are outnumbering evangelical voters in the Nevada caucuses, according to entrance poll data from ABC News, tweeted the network’s political director Amy Walter. About 26 percent of Nevada voters are Mormon, while 23 percent are evangelicals according to the ABC numbers. Outsized turnout from Mormon voters could provide a even bigger win for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who sees far and away the most support from them. Public Policy Polling’s (D) recent survey of the state showed the Mormon population as about 20 percent of the GOP electorate, so any inprovement on that through higher turnout would likely pad Romney’s numbers.
