A missile attack on a house killed nine al-Qaeda militants early Wednesay in the town of Azan in Shabwa province. Yemeni military officials say the missile was fired by a drone. Some militants were reported to have escaped from the town of Jaar, which government and tribal forces reconquered on Tuesday. Those who escaped spray-painted the words, “Al-Qaeda has withdrawn. Al-Qaeda was not defeated,” on store shutters and walls.
