A Michigan teen accidentally shot himself in the foot while hunting on Thursday.

The 16-year old was hunting in the Snover area of Michigan when he accidentally tripped and discharged his gun in the process, the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department said, according to the Port Huron Times Herald

The sheriff’s office did not disclose the boy’s name because an investigation of the incident is ongoing.

A neighbor nearby provided the boy with first aid and took him to the McKenzie Memorial Hospital. After the wound was stabilized the boy was transferred to Covenant Hospital in Saginaw.
