Don't stop the presses, but there are still plenty of lobbyists floating around Washington. Those private interests who want the most bang for their buck typically go to the lobbyist who have been there, done that and have the rolodexes to prove it: former members of Congress.
Want a sense of how many former lawmakers are part of this "Shadow Congress"? Here's TPM's nearly-comprehensive list of public servants turned influence peddlers. We counted 195 so far. Many of those former members who were booted out of the legislative branch in 2010 and have lined up private gigs faster then you could say "revolving door." That list of newbies includes a lot of Blue Dog Democrats, as the Center for Public Integrity reported last month.
You can roll over each state on our map to check out how many former lawmakers are now part of the Shadow Congress, and click on each state for detailed information. We miss someone?
