New Hampshire Democrats are highlighting what they say is a major gender imbalance in Mitt Romney’s primary delegates.

His delegate slate, which lists supporters who would represent him at the Republican convention if he gets enough votes in the primary, includes just three women out of twenty total participants — Beverly Bruce, Donna Sytek, and M.J. Eastwood. By contrast, Newt Gingrich’s slate, which isn’t yet fully completed, has six women out of fourteen listed participants.

“Here we are in 2011 and a leading presidential candidate can’t find more than three women,” former state Democratic chair Kathy Sullivan told reporters in a call on Monday. “We think it’s pretty outrageous.”

Democrats also noted that one of the delegates, executive councilor Raymond J. Wieczorek, blocked funding to Planned Parenthood to provide contraception, saying at the time “If you want to have a party, have a party, but don’t ask me to pay for it.”

A spokesman for Romney did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the campaign’s delegate slate.
