Sorry, Democrats: you’re not going to get that clip of Mitt Romney hanging out with Donald Trump that you seem to want so badly.
Katrina Trinko reports from the pack of journalists who staked out Trump Tower Monday to catch a glimpse of The Donald chillin’ with The Mitt:
[W]hile about 15 to 20 media outlets waited for an hour outside Trump Tower, at an entrance where Romney aide Will Ritter was posted, it’s unlikely there will ever be a publicly-released photo of Romney and Trump or even of Romney walking into Trump Tower. It was public knowledge that Romney was slated to meet with Trump at 2 p.m. today at Trump Tower, but the campaign obviously didn’t want any photos of the event.
At around 3 p.m., Ritter informed the press that Romney had come and left Trump Tower and then immediately jumped into a cab. According to Ritter, Trump and Romney had been slated to talk for 45 minutes.
TPM asked team Romney if he purposefully ducked the the press at his meeting with Trump.
“The governor has no open press events today, all private meetings,” spokesperson Andrea Saul replied via email.
