Elizabeth Warren is launching her first TV ad, introducing herself to voters in her campaign to unseat Massachusetts Republican Sen. Scott Brown. The ad is set to air starting on Tuesday.

The Warren campaign has sent a fundraising e-mail to their supporter list, in which Warren pitches the ad as a response to a recent attack ad from the Karl Rove-affiliated group Crossroads GPS:

Since news of Karl Rove’s negative attacks hit last Wednesday, your fellow supporters across Massachusetts and across the country have already helped us raise more than $300,000 to fight back. But the anonymous Wall Street tycoons behind Rove’s ad buy have committed $600,000 to their attacks, and they’ll easily spend more.

With the help of friends like you, we can match them, dollar-for-dollar. With your help, we can set the record straight — and show Rove and his buddies that we’re not going to get pushed around.

The ad is a biographical introduction spot, with Warren speaking to the camera, plus images of her life:

“I’m Elizabeth Warren. I’m running for the United States Senate — and before you hear a bunch of ridiculous attack ads, I want to tell you who I am.

“Like a lot of you, I came up the hard way. My dad sold carpet. And when he had a heart attack, my mom went to work so we could keep our house. We all worked. My three brothers joined the military. I got married at 19, had two kids, worked my way through college, taught at elementary school, and then I went to law school.

“For years, I worked to expose how Wall St and the big banks are crushing middle-class families. It just isn’t right. I stood up to the big banks and their army of Washington lobbyists. I worked to hold them accountable. I led the fight for a new agency to protect consumers — and we got it.

“But Washington is still rigged for the big guys, and that’s gotta change. I’m Elizabeth Warren, and I approve this message, because I want Massachusetts families to have a level playing field.”
