Michele Bachmann’s presidential campaign announced on Wednesday that the congresswoman will be appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno this Friday, September 16.  According to the press release, Rep. Bachmann will “share with Mr. Leno and his studio audience what life is like on the campaign trail, personal stories, and 2012 campaign plans.”

The Minnesotan has slipped in the polls recently, falling behind both Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) and former Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA). Undeterred, she has gone on the offensive, hammering Perry on his executive order mandating HPV vaccinations for young girls in his home state while continuing her attacks on Romney’s health care plan.

It will be interesting to see how the candidate handles the comedians barbs. If Mr. Leno succeeds in eliciting a fumbled response, it could cause a large blow to Bachmann’s chances.
