Voter at Grafton Village Elementary School in Stafford, VA this morning. His observations: “on balance, more Romney than Obama signs along the route to the polls in this Republican leaning district. Romney signs were for Romney alone, whereas most of the Obama signs were actually “Obama-Kaine-Cook” (Cook being the sacrificial lamb the Democrats have up against the Republican incumbent in Virginia’s 1st district). Both Romney and Obama had a poll worker out, although the Obama guy had a large sign advertising his ability to answer voting questions or resolve issues with being issued a provisional ballot (“voted in a green envelope? We can help”). At this time of day, there was no line at all and voters appeared to be primarily retirees, but a poll worker told me that the line had been out the door earlier in the morning.”

“I don’t usually do things like this – but my wife recently became a US citizen and this is her first time voting, and I’m quite proud. She is originally from Taiwan. The kids (2.5, 7mo) came along for the ride – introduction to civics starts early in our family.”
