We made two major upgrades to the site overnight.
One area where we’ve been behind for a while is on our mobile site. Overnight we launched an entirely new mobile site for smartphones. It’s been in development for a few months. It is dramatically faster and smoother than the old site. And it includes access to a number of parts of the site that were never available on smartphone mobile before.
The major addition on mobile is the addition of comments, which we’re not available on our earlier mobile site. The Hive is now also available for Prime subscribers.
With any major upgrade there will inevitably be small bugs that need to be fixed. So if you see any, please shoot us a line at our main comments email address.
Aside from letting us know about any bugs you see, we also want to know how you like the new design. Anything you particularly like, don’t like or any additional changes you’d like to see, please let us know.
We have also upgraded the software that runs public comments and The Hive. This adds a number of features on the desktop version of TPM as well as making the code more stable. We’re currently working on a knocking down a few small bugs, mainly focused on ‘character sets’ being out of sync. If you’re affected by this you’ll likely see it as weird characters showing up in the place of buttons. We should be able to have this all fixed within 36 hours if not sooner.
