A new poll out this morning from Quinnipiac has the Democrats with a 14 point advantage in the congressional generic ballot. That’s on the high side of recent results. 538 currently puts its current ‘average’ at 8.6 points. The poll is of registered voters, sampled 1,038 respondents and was conducted between September 6th and 9th.
Here are some of the key internal breakdowns.
As I said, this is a margin on the high end of recent polls, as you can see by the spread between the margin of this poll and 538’s composite number. But it’s close to the range of recent premium phone polls. ABC/WaPo had 14 points; NBC/WSJ had 12; Emerson had 13. The exception is Selzer and Co, another highly respected poll which had a 2 point spread.
