Coming off his multiple felony indictments for campaign finance fraud involved involving both his estranged wife and then mistress, disgraced and defenestrated former Christian college President Dinesh D’souza has a new film coming out. And to promote it, he’s come out with this ‘parody’ version that “Between Two Ferns” interview President Obama did a few weeks ago with Zach Galifianakis
I just got it in a PR email about (though I just realized we wrote it up at LiveWire yesterday) and it is clearly meant to be funny. But … well, just watch …
Over the last few months I’ve been talking to friends of D’souza’s from the 90s, basically asking, what happened to the guy? I’d assumed that D’souza has at least become a very wealthy man based on what was a phenomenally successful anti-Obama documentary. But as one friend noted, stuff like this suggests he may not have gotten a lot of the earnings himself.
The guy who I think has the best read points to disappointment over the reception of his 1996 book The End of Racism: Principles for a Multiracial Society. Rather than marking his ascendence as one of modern conservatism’s great thinkers, it met with a generally negative reception. And that either turned him on a course from someone with simply non-PC views on race to something more like an ingrained and embittered loathing for people of African ancestry – something that both curdled and became intensely salable in the Obama era.
It’s a sad story. But if you’d like to have a little fun at his expense because its not nice because one of America’s top race hustlers, then watch the video above.
