TPM is hiring a Publishing Assistant to join our publishing team working out of our New York City office. Applicants must be ambitious, quick-studies and ready and eager to learn the nuts and bolts of publishing, monetizing and growing a digital news business from the ground up. This is an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands on experience in the digital news economy working closely on a daily basis with our ad sellers, data team and Publisher, Josh Marshall.
The Publishing Assistant will play a key role in our integrated publishing team. The assistant will act as an account manager for our directly sold advertising campaigns, play a key role in building ad proposals and will be the primary day-to-day contact for all general advertiser questions. She/he will also manage some logistics for TPM events and will be assigned additional responsibilities related to TPM’s broader business according to evolving needs.
The ideal candidate will be highly interested in the business side of news and will be extremely creative and entrepreneurial. A working knowledge of Google analytics and Google DFP is a major plus (but not required), and past work experience in a client-facing role is an asset as well.
