After the jump —
Here are photos of me and a first time voter. We voted at 5:00 eastern, in Alexandria, KY. No lines.
“First time voting together with my fiance. Bronx kid, veteran, still helping protect our country voting for Obama in Charm City! And since it’s Maryland also voting for gay marriage and the Dream Act…”
“Voting in Cambridge this afternoon.”
“My son brought along a friend for good luck on our first trip to the polls together…”
“John Ewing (Democratic congressional candidate, NE CD2) makes a final campaign swing through the University of Nebraska-Omaha student union, as I head out to my polling location across the street from campus”
“We submitted our vote-by-mail ballots in person at a community center in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles. We wanted to turn them in in person to show our daughter the voting process and because my wife is a new citizen, and because it’s fun!”
“My polling location in Middleton, WI (basically Madison) was well-staffed and smoothly run. Having just moved here I especially appreciated being able to register and vote at the same time.”
“A photo of my husband showing our son, 5, how to vote and what it’s all about in District 7 in Manhattan, NYC. Our son was really excited about the opportunity because we’ve shared the experience of my family and how it took many generations before we were allowed to vote — I’m South African.”
