Very odd story breaking down in Houston. Federal law enforcement from the city’s Joint Terrorism Task Force swooped into an upscale Houston neighborhood this afternoon after someone supposedly ordered chemicals of the sort you’d use “to make some sort of gas … like tear gas or nerve gas,” according to law enforcement officials quoted by the Houston Chronicle.

Three separate properties were raided, all owned by one couple, Cecily E. Horton, a prominent art dealer and Andrew Schenk. Suspicion apparently focus on the couple’s college aged son.

A neighbor at one of the raided locations said the couple’s son was “college-aged and was rumored to be looking at suspect web sites.”

TPM Reader RT, who lives in the nearby, alerted us to the story.
