Graham: ‘We’re Going To Have Some Bipartisanship On Tax Cuts And Replacing The Health Care Bill
Appearing on Face The Nation, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) predicted that Republican gains in Congress would result in more compromise from President Obama and the Democrats. “About bipartisanship after the election, I predict there will be a good bit of effort,” said Graham. “There will be a bipartisan effort to extend the Bush tax cuts and not let them expire. 2012 and 2014, Democrats in swing states are going to get the message from independent voters to come to the middle. So I think we’re going to have some bipartisanship when it comes to replacing the health care bill with a more moderate approach.”

Axelrod: Whether Obama Can Work With GOP Is ‘Up To Them’
Appearing on State of the Union, White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod indicated that President Obama’s approach to working with Republicans would not change, in terms of compromises on such key issues as the extension of the Bush tax cuts, if Republicans make significant gains in November. “It’s up to us to extend our hand (to Republicans) as we have before,” said Axelrod. “It’s up to them to decide whether they’re going to take it or whether they’re going to do what they’ve done for the last 2 years.”

Gibbs: Obama To Focus On Implementing Health Care And Wall Street Reform
Appearing on Meet The Press, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said that President Obama would work for the next two years on implementing reforms that have already been passed: “We’ve got to address problems that sit before us. We have a medium and long-term fiscal situation that we all understand is unsustainable, and it’s only going to be solved if the two parties are willing to work together. We’ve got to take steps to continue education reform. And most importantly we, we’ve passed some important legislation that creates a foundation for long-term economic growth, Wall Street reform, and healthcare reform. And it’s going to take a lot of coordinated energy and work to implement those. I think that’s what the president–you’ll see the folk–president focused on in the next two years regardless, quite frankly, of the outcome of this election.”

Coons: O’Donnell ‘Has A Lot Of Moxie’
Appearing on This Week, Senate candidate Chris Coons (D-DE) said of his Republican opponent Christine O’Donnell, “She’s run for the — for the United States Senate three times in five years. That’s a lot of persistence.” He also added: “I think my grandmother would have said she has a lot of moxie.”

O’Donnell: GOP Not Helping Me
Appearing on This Week, Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell (R-DE) said that the Republican Party is still not helping her campaign: “The state party isn’t helping us. And we’re asking the national Republican senatorial to help us. We’ve got the Democratic senatorial committee coming after me. We’re hoping that the National Republican Senatorial Committee will help us. But it’s two-and-a-half weeks left, and they’re not.”

Meghan McCain: O’Donnell ‘Making A Mockery Of Running For Public Office’
Appearing on This Week, Meghan McCain reacted to the candidacy of Christine O’Donnell: ” Well, I speak as a 26-year-old woman. And my problem is that, no matter what, Christine O’Donnell is making a mockery of running for public office. She has no real history, no real success in any kind of business. And what that sends to my generation is, one day, you can just wake up and run for Senate, no matter how lack of experience you have. And it scares me for a lot of reasons, and I just know (inaudible) it just turns people off, because she’s seen as a nutjob.”

Cornyn: GOP Senate Majority ‘May Be A Two-Cycle Process’
Appearing on Fox News Sunday, National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn (R-TX) continued to downplay Republican chances of getting all the way to a majority in the 2010 elections alone, instead looking ahead to 2012. “I’m not predicting we’re going to get back the majority,” said Cornyn. “It may be a two-cycle process.”
