In Boehner Versus Reid, Largely Pulled Punches — For Now
The Hill reports: “John Boehner and Harry Reid have thrown a few jabs at each other in the first round of the new Congress, but have largely pulled their punches. CPAC 2011: What’s At Stake For The GOP?
The Washington Post reports: “The first major cattle call of the 2012 presidential race begins tomorrow in Washington at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), an annual rite-of-passage for Republicans hoping to make it on the national stage. Eight Republicans who are actively considering the 2012 contest will be addressing the group over the three-day gathering, hoping to road-test their message for the assembled crowd (and media).”

The GOP’s Israel Primary
Politico reports: “A stop in the Jewish state is becoming as critical to a would-be president’s political resume as an early trip to Iowa or New Hampshire, a sort of global two-fer. Get some early foreign policy street-cred and play a little dog-whistle politics with Christian conservatives who are deeply invested in Israel’s fate – some because they view it as critical to the Biblical vision of the end of days.”
