Orszag Confirms Fathering Child
White House Budget Director Peter Orszag released a statement yesterday, confirming the New York Post report that he has recently fathered a child, with former girlfriend Claire Milonas: "In November, Claire gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Although we are no longer together, we are both thrilled she is happy and healthy, and we would hope that everyone will respect her privacy." Orszag recently became engaged to ABC News reporter Bianna Golodryga.

In a new profile in the New York Times, Rep. Bart Stupak discusses the role he has played in the health care debate, and confirmed his intentions to block the health care bill if it does not include the anti-abortion language he passed in the House. "Before, when we talked about pro-life Democrats, you'd get a snicker and a laugh," said Stupak. "We were just always overlooked. We're not overlooked anymore."
Dodd's Retirement Could Boost Boost Chances For Financial Regulatory Overhaul
The Washington Post reports that Sen. Chris Dodd's (D-CT) retirement could potentially improve the chances of passing a financial regulatory bill. "He's got time to finish this, and without the white noise, the clutter, whatever you want to call it, of worrying about being reelected," said Ed Mierzwinski, consumer program director for the U.S. Public Interest Research Group.
Pelosi On Final Health Care Vote: 'Hopefully That Will Be Soon'
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told reporters yesterday that Democrats are close to arriving at a final vote on health care, though she declined to guarantee it happening this month. "It's possible," said Pelosi. "We will bring the bills to the floor when we are ready, and hopefully that will be soon."
Romney Will Visit New Hampshire
Former Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA) will make several appearances in New Hampshire for his upcoming book tour, the New Hampshire Union Leader reports. The book tour also includes stops in Iowa, a seeming hint that Romney could be gearing up for another presidential campaign.
